Washington: The Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir has urged the United States to adopt a tougher stance regarding Syrian Crisis.
Al-Jubeir emphasized that Saudi will support aggressive approach against Bashar Al- Asad Regime and advocated airstrikes, a no fly-zone and robust arming of opposition.
He made this statement during press conference held at Saudi embassy following the meeting of Deputy Crown Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud with Barrack Obama.
According To CNN, Saudi Minister said, “We continue to believe unless we change the balance of power in a dramatic way, that once we do that it will open the way for a political solution,”
Al-Jubeir described the visit of Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and clarified Saudi stance emphatically that it is in the better interest of both United States and Saudi to undo Bashar Al-Asad regime and seek a political solution.
“The crisis will end, provided Bashar Assad relinquishes power, either through political process or by force,”
Saudi leaders have stressed to maintain Syrian territorial integrity and protection of civilians from the very outset of the Syrian crisis.While Al Jubeir also blamed Iran for the current deteriorating situation in the Middle East. He asserted his belief that Iran is trying to destabilize the region by interfering in internal affairs of neighbor countries and promoting terrorism for their interests.
He said, they have discussed bilateral relations with USA and emphasized on the strategic relation between the two the countries.
